Yesterday, the Indonesian police announced the disappearance of a 10-year-old boy on the island of Borneo after being attacked by a crocodile, marking the second similar case in the region in less than a week. According to his friend's words, the boy jumped into one of the rivers of the Western Kalimantan province on the island of Borneo, which is one of the most biologically diverse places in the world, when he was attacked by a crocodile measuring about four meters.

"The boy's friend saw the crocodile emerge to the surface, bite him, and drag him into the water," commented local police commander Rashmatu Isani Fashri. After this, the friend reported the incident to the boy's father, who initiated a search with the help of a speedboat. However, the boy has not yet been found.

Earlier this month, another boy went missing in the same village after being attacked by a crocodile while swimming, as reported by his uncle, who became a witness to the attack. The police announced the incident on February 7 of this year. In August of last year, a 54-year-old woman was killed by a crocodile while bathing. Indonesia is home to several species of crocodiles that regularly attack and kill people.
