These included volcanic eruptions in Indonesia, earthquakes in Japan and Australia, as well as floods and landslides in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This prompted authorities to raise alert levels and warn residents of potential dangers. Mount Semeru in East Java, Indonesia, erupted nine times on Saturday and Sunday, ejecting ash columns up to 1,000 meters above the summit. The first eruption was recorded at 00:07, with an ash column height of 700 meters moving southward with the wind. The highest eruption occurred at 05:19.
