Officials reported that search teams have combed a rugged, limestone hill area in Indonesia's South Sulawesi province on Saturday, after a plane carrying 11 people lost contact with air traffic controllers while approaching the regional center of Makassar. The Ministry of Transportation stated that the turboprop ATR 42-500 aircraft, operated by an Indonesian airline, was flying from Yogyakarta on the island of Java to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar when the communication was suddenly cut off.
