A landslide that occurred early Saturday morning on the main island of Java in Indonesia due to heavy rains has killed at least eight people and left 82 others missing, as rescuers struggle to find survivors. Days of heavy downpours caused rivers to flood, damaging Pasir Lango village in West Bandung district of West Java province, burying about 34 homes. According to the National Disaster Management Agency, rescue teams are searching for 82 residents who are feared to be buried under piles of mud and debris, while 24 people have managed to save themselves from the disaster. Around eight bodies have been recovered in the hardest-hit village of Pasir Kuning after the landslide, which struck at 3 a.m., swept away homes and residents.
