Rice Production in Indonesia Expected to Surge

The Indonesian logistics office in Banda Aceh reports that rice production could reach 18.76 million tons from January to June 2025, marking an 11.17% increase from last year.


Rice Production in Indonesia Expected to Surge

At the local warehouse of the logistics bureau in the Indonesian region of Banda Aceh, a worker is stacking bags of rice. According to information from the office, rice production for state needs from January to June 2025 may reach 18.76 million tons. This is 1.89 million tons, or 11.17%, more than in the previous year in the same period. It is expected that rice production by 2025 will amount to 34 million tons, exceeding the national target of 23 million tons.

"We are working on increasing rice production and improving its quality to ensure the needs of our country in this product," the logistics bureau emphasized.
